Malaria in Asia
Malaria in Asia is widespread, but not on the same scale as Africa. Successful interventions have included large-scale indoor residual spraying campaigns in India, and well-organized bednet programs in Vietnam. These and similar programs have resulted in dramatic reductions in clinical cases of malaria. Yet complacency is a constant threat to every successful program, and for this reason program managers are constantly monitoring mosquito populations and patients to establish any evidence of reduced impact of their control measures.
